Fight For You- Jason Derulo

This is one of Jason Derulo's newer songs that are on his new album Future History. It's a remake of Toto's Africa which then was redid by Karl Wolf, Africa. This link is not the music video, but it's a lyric video, not one that just shows the lyrics to the song. The video is really well done. I think Jason has really modernized this piece and I think Jason does the best job. They are not exactly the same, but Fight For You's chorus is the same as both of the other Africas. All of the versions are very nice, take a look! I hope you enjoy!

Better Than I Know Myself- Adam Lambert

After having a drought of popular songs, Adam Lambert is back with this song, Better Than I Know Myself. Adam has a lot of talent, and he is able to make his "comeback" into the center stage with this song. This is one that will definitely bring him back into the pop culture world. I hope you enjoy, and tell me what you think!

The One That Got Away- Katy Perry (Music Video+ Lyrics)

Summer after high school when we first met
We make out in you mustang to radio head
And on my 18th birthday we bought matching tattoos
Used to steal your parent's liquor and climb to the roof
Talk about our future, like we had a clue
Never planned that one day I'd be losing you
In another life, I would be your girl
We keep all our promises be us against the world
In another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away.

I was June you were my Johnny Cash
Never one without the other we made a pact
Sometimes when I miss you I put those records on...whooa
Someone said you had your tattoo removed
Saw you down town singin the blues
It's time to face the music I'm no longer your muse
But in another life I would be your girl
We keep all our promises be us against the world
In another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away.

The one, the one, the one
The one that got away.

All his money can't buy me a time machine, no
Can't replace you with a million rings, no
I shoulda told you what you meant to me, whooa
Cause now I pay the price.

In another life I would be your girl
We keep all our promises be us against the world
In another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away.

The one, the one, the one

In another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The One That Got Away- Katy Perry

Here is her newest music video for The One That Got Away! I really enjoy this song because it's a lot more of singing, instead of completely mainstream songs. It has a great melody and it shows her true talent very well. The music video was actually very relevant to the song this time, unlike some of her other ones, like California Gurls. I hope you enjoy the song!

Crawling Back To You- Daughtry

Daughtry has finally came out with another song! I didn't like his new song as much as his older songs because this song was a much harder rock song. Daughtry is still a great artist with an incredible voice. Some of his earlier songs were Life After You and September. I like his older songs, but I think that it's great that he is coming out with new songs and videos again! I hope you enjoy!

I Like it Like That- Hot Chelle Rae

Have you heard this song yet? Well if you haven't, this is a super catchy song that can easily get stuck in your head. I thought it was a fun song to listen to, take a look and ENJOY!

Pretty Girls- Iyaz ft. Travie McCoy (Lyrics+ Music Video)

So many different flavors
So many shapes and sizes
You, coming with me and you, going with Iyaz
No surprises, I put it all on the table for you
Nothing is too taboo, I'm ready, willing to give you everything

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city (yup)
There's a lot of pretty girls in this town
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to find a shorty to hold me down (yaw)

They say to get to New York girl
Then you gotta have a lot of class
And I heard there ain't nothing like the Cali girls
But you better have a lot of cash (cash)
And I know there ain't nothing like the A-Town girl
Cuz they know how to show you love
And no matter where I go
I gotta let them know
That this song here is about you (let's go)

See I don't mean to run away
To places you would not believe
It's seeing these pretty girls
I'm wishing you were there with me
It's simple when you smile girl
Tells me all I need to know
You can be my one and only

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
There's a lot of pretty girls in this town
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to find a shorty to hold me down

Tell me is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you girl? (yaw)

They say, to get a MIA girl,
Then you gotta have a lot of swag
I heard, to get a Down South Bell,
Then you gotta ride a Cadillac
I know, Ain't like a London girl,
Cuz they know how to party up
And no matter where I go, I gotta let her know
That this song here is about you

I don't mean to run away
To places you would not believe
It's seeing these pretty girls
I'm wishing you were there with me
It's simple when you smile girl
Tells me all I need to know
You can be my one and only

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city (yup)
There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one (let's go)

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
There's a lot of pretty girls in this town
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to find a shorty to hold me down

Tell me is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you girl? (eh)
Is it you girl?

Oh, I'm so indecisive
Trying to find a pretty girl that these shoes goes nice with
Been around the world and back, got a knack for the girls in black
But I need a chick that's gonna hold me tight like vice grip

Just make sure you need my heart how you found it
You can keep the key but the lock stays around me
Baby, let's take it slow, no pulling a fast route
And you look like the type to keep my mind off the last one

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
There's a lot of pretty girls in this city
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one

There's a lot of pretty girls in this city (yay)
There's a lot of pretty girls in this town
I'm trying to pick the right one
Trying to pick the right one
Trying to find a shorty to hold me down

Tell me is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl? (eh)
Is it you, girl?

Pretty Girls- Iyaz ft. Travie McCoy

Iyaz finally has another song out! Iyaz had many really nice songs where he showcases his incredible talent, e.g. Solo and Replay, before. Then he had a long period where his songs weren't popular or very good. This song, Pretty Girls by Iyaz ft. Travie McCoy, is a really nice song that is very catchy, has a great beat, and has lyrics that are sung perfectly, just helping show Iyaz's talent. Travie's part mixes into this song extremely well and is really nice. I hope you enjoy!

Not Over You- Gavin Degraw (Lyrics+ Music Video)

Dreams, that's where I have to go
To see your beautiful, face anymore
I stare at a picture of you, and listen to the radio
Hope, hope there's a conversation
We both admit we had it good
But until then it's alienation
I know that much is understood, and I realize

If you ask me how I'm doing
I would say I'm doing just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down at a table set for two
And finally I'm forced to face the truth,
No matter what I say I'm, not over you (not over you)

Damn, damn girl you do it well
And I thought you were innocent
Took this heart and put it through hell
But still you're magnificent
I'm, I'm a boomerang, doesn't matter how you throw me
I turn around and I'm back in the game
Even better than the old me
But I'm not, even close, without you

If you ask me how I'm doing
I would say I'm doing just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down at a table set for two
And finally I'm forced to face the truth,
No matter what I say I'm, not over you

And if I had the chance to renew
You know there isn't a thing I wouldn't do
I could get back on the right track
But only if you'd be convinced
So until then

If you ask me how I'm doing
I would say I'm doing just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down, at a table set for two
And finally I'm forced to face the truth,
No matter what I say I'm, not over you
Not over you, not over you, not over you

Big Wheels- Down With Webster

Well here is Down with Webster's newest music video, Big Wheels. I thought it was much more mainstreamed then some other songs they have, but all in all it was a good song. Down with Webster may be a bigger band in Canada, but they are very similar to the bands here in the US. Hope you enjoy!

Papi- Jennifer Lopez

This is a great song and is extremely catchy. The song mixes her background with her slightly mainstream focused song really well. The music video is very entertaining and it is just another great song, Papi by Jennifer Lopez. At 3:50 I feel like it's a J-low version of the Micheal Jackson Thriller dance, so I hope you enjoy!

Sweeter- Gavin DeGraw

This isn't the music video yet, but I liked the up beat rhythm and I thought that the song was pretty nice. I wouldn't say this is his best piece, but it does sound pretty cool. This song, Sweeter by Gavin DeGraw, is very catchy, too! Even if you don't really like the song, the rhythm will still stick with you. Take a look, see what you think!

Invisible- Skylar Grey (Lyrics+ Music Video)

I take these pills
To make me thin
I dye my hair
And cut my skin
I try everything
To make them see me
But all they see
Is someone that's not me

Even when I'm walking on a wire
Even when I set myself on fire
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible
Every day I try to look my best
Even though inside I'm such a mess
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible

Here inside
I cry like hell
You cannot hear
My cries for help
I try everything, yeah
To make them see me
But everyone
Sees what I can't be

Even when I'm walking on a wire
Even when I set myself on fire
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible
Everyday I try to look my best
Even though inside I'm such a mess
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible

Sometimes when I'm alone
I pretend that I'm a queen
It's almost believable

Even when I'm walking on a wire
Even when I set myself on fire
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible
Every day I try to look my best
Even though inside I'm such a mess
Why do I always feel invisible, invisible

Love The Way You Lie- Skylar Grey

Here is another version of this very popular song, I love the Way You Lie. Skylar Grey was one of the original writers of this song, but her version was never released with Eminem. Skylar sings the same version as Rihanna has, I love The Way You Lie Part 2, except she does it with much gentler then Rihanna's version. There is also the version with Eminem's rap, I Love The Way You Lie by Skylar Grey ft. Eminem. I really liked Skylar's version the best. Hope you enjoy!

Wish You Were Here- Avril Lavigne

Here is another great song by Avril Lavigne. She has so much talent and is still putting it to good use by making songs that aren't loaded up with auto tune and lots of background noise. Her voice accompanied by the instruments not the other way around. I hope you enjoy a terrific song by Avril Lavigne- Wish You Were Here. Let me know what you think!

Remind Me- Brad Paisley duet with Carrie Underwood

I don't like country as much as any other genre, but I thought this was a really nice duet between Brad and Carrie. I think it was not has thick country as many other songs and had a great melody. This song gets stuck in your head very easily and is very good. I hope you enjoy this, even all the non-country fans. It even has a nice small guitar part and solo.  Remind Me- Brad Paisley duet with Carrie Underwood.

Invisible- Skylar Grey

The music video for this song was just posted yesterday. Unlike a lot of the other songs, it doesn't have as many hits, but she has a really amazing voice and message. This song is really meaningful and a lot people could relate to this at least once in there life. Skylar Grey has been featured in many recent songs including I Need A Doctor- By Dr. Dre ft Eminem and Skylar Grey. The lyrics talk about how a person does so many things to try to get people to like her and be her friend, but she always feels like that no one notices her. Skylar has an incredible voice and is using it to get a story out about the people that are hidden by others actions. I hope you enjoy this amazing song, Invisible- Skylar Grey.

Fly- Nicki Minaj ft. Rihanna

I think this is a great song, Nicki doesn't have a really hard rap part but the song is an inspirational one. Rihanna and Nicki Mainaj make a great team with this song. I hope you enjoy it! Fly by Nicki Minaj ft. Rihanna.

Stereo Hearts- Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine (Lyrics+ Music Video)

My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-oh-ote

Make me your radio (Ya)
Turn me up when you feel low (Turn it up a little bit)
This melody was meant for you (ya right there)
Just sing along to my stereo

(Gym class heroes baby) If I was just another dusty record on the shelve
Will you blow me off and play me like everybody else
If I ask you to scratch my back, could you manage that
Like it read well, check it Travie, I can handle that
Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks
This the last girl that play me left a couple cracks
I used to used to used to used to, now I'm over that
Cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts

If I could only find a note to make you understand
I sing a song for you and the image grab me by the hands
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart is a stereo that only plays for you (ha, ha, ha)

My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-oh-ote (ya, ya, ya come on)

Make me your radio (uh huh)
Turn me up when you feel low (Turn it up)
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oooh oh ooooh oh To my stereo
Oh ooooh So sing along to my stereo

(Lets Go)If I wasn't old school, fifty pound boombox
Would you hold me on your shoulder, wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up before of the cops
And crank it higher everytime they told you to stop
And all I ask is that you don't get mad at me, mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries, batteries
Appreciate every mixtape your friends make, friends make
You never know we come and go like we're on the interstate, never know

I think finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hear it, sing along and take me by the hands
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart is a stereo that only plays for you

My heart's a stereo (ya)
It beats for you, so listen close (listen)
Hear my thoughts in every no-oh-ote (oh, oh)

Make me your radio (come on)
Turn me up when you feel low (turn it up)
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo (sing along all night)

Oooh oh ooooh oh To my stereo
Ooooh oh So sing along to my stereo

I only pray you never leave me behind (never leave me)
Because good music can be so hard to find (So hard to find)
I take your hand and pull it closer to mine (ya)
Thought love was dead, but now you're changing my mind (ya, ya come on)
Whoo

My heart's a stereo (ya)
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-oh-ote (oh, oh, oh)

Make me your radio (uh huh)
Turn me up when you feel low (turn it up)
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oooh oh ooooh oh To my stereo
Oh ooooh (it's your boy Travie, gym class heroes baby) So sing along to my stereo
Ya

Stereo Hearts- Gym Class Heroes ft. Adam Levine

I love this song! It's not really new, but it is still not as popular or old as many other songs that are this good. With Adam Levine, this song mixes light rap with great singing. Enjoy this great song by Gym Class Heroes- Stereo Hearts!

Under Recognized Artists and Bands

I just wanted to do a post about the great artists that only smaller groups of followers listen to and are under recognized. The first is a band that isn't popular in the US, but is one of the hottest bands in Canada, Down With Webster. I wouldn't have found this band if it wasn't for some of my friends that came down from Canada recently. It only took a few seconds before I was hooked on this band. Here is one of their most listened to song. Whoa is Me As you can see, they don't have nearly as many hits as some of the more mainstream US singers, but they are a really good group. They blend pop, rap, and rock. They do an incredible job with blending the different genres together. Here are a few more of their songs,
Your Man
She's Dope
Hope you like them!

The second artist is Gavin DeGraw. He makes some really nice music that many people already enjoy listening to. The amount of people that listen to his music is normally only the people that have been listening to his music for a while now, not many new people are introduced to his music. I think that this song, Not Over You, is a very good indicator of his talent. Listen and enjoy!

Spread the word!

Ladies Love Me- Chris Brown Ft. Justin Bieber

So, this is the new song that Chris Brown and Justin made. It's a mixture of a remix of Look At Me Now and a new song. I have to admit, Justin is an alright rapper, but he needs to stick to what he was doing before they made this track.

Friday- Rebecca Black

The YouTube video to the original Friday by Rebecca Black has been removed from YouTube. I am guessing they did that to stop many of the incredibly rude and hurtful things people had been posting. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the video isn't gone forever, here is the re-uploaded video of Friday that someone else has posted, with much less harmful comments and views.

My Moment- Rebecca Black

Ok, so... After making the WORST song and music video Friday, Rebecca Black has come out with a much better song. I don't think this is good, I just think it's much better than her last song. I think that if we forget she ever made the song Friday, we might actually get some decent songs in our future from Rebecca Black. I'm not saying she will be a big hit, just not the same singer we saw in Friday. Just remember, she has over 10 million views in just 3 days. Could you do that? Even if they are there to just laugh, she is getting much more publicity than many of us. Listen to this new song, My Moment by Rebecca Black and tell me what you think.

Till I'm Gone- Tinie Tempah Ft. Wiz Khalifa

I'm sure this song will become a very big hit after a few months out. This song is a little more main stream than some of Tinie Tempah's other songs, but if you like rap, you will really enjoy this song. As always, Wiz brings his own style and voice into this to help Tinie out. Their styles and voice are close and this song mixes their talent really well. This song is very different than Tinie's other song, Written In The Stars, but still uses all of Tinie's talents. Take a few minutes to listen to this song! Enjoy!

I Wanna Go- Britney Spears

Next To You- Chris Brown ft. Justin Bieber

I'm not a Justin Bieber fan at all, but I think that this song with Justin Bieber was very nice. Justin helps complete this song because he brings a voice that can match Chris Brown in pitch and range. Listen to this song and see for yourself how it is.

Fast Lane- Bad Meets Evil

This song is sick. Royce Da 5'9 plus Eminem equals an amazing song. The rap is really catchy and all of the parts are done perfectly. Listen to it one time and any only partial fan of rap will like it. Any big rap fans will like this as soon as they hear it, as well.

Rainbow- Jessie J (Lyrics)

Rainbow rainbow rainbow we're the colors of the rainbow
Rainbow rainbow ohh ohh Rainbow rainbow Jessie J OHH

He grew up in the city, had alot of money
Sponging of his daddy all the time
He lives in a bubble, never had a struggle
So far from the benefit line

But he feels blue sometimes
And his blood bleeds red like mine
The grass is greener on the other side
What I'm saying is we're all alike
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Let's share our pot of gold
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Everybody's on the yellow brick road
There's enough for you you you
There's enough for me me me
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah

Rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow

This Mummy in the gheto
Gotta work a double
Just to pay the bills and get by
But more power to ya
Keep doing what ya doin ya
Everybody steady on your grind

But you feels blue sometimes
And your blood bleeds red like mine
The grass is greener on the other side
What I'm saying is we're all alike
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Let's share our pot of gold
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Everybody's on the yellow brick road
There's enough for you you you
There's enough for me me me
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah

Hello Hello why does everybody get so mad
Yellow Yellow is color for the battle in my head
I need pink in my life like love in my heart
Silver in the sky as we rock with the stars
We just can't keep fighting anymore no no no

We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Let's share our pot of gold
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Everybody's on the yellow brick road
There's enough for you you you
There's enough for me me me
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
We're the colors of the rainbow yeah yeah
Rainbow rainbow rainbow yeah yeah
Colors of the rainbow yeah

She Ain't You- Chris Brown

I think this was one of the best songs Chris Brown has made. He continues to actually use his talent and not just sing a song that has gone completely mainstream and monotonous. Chris Brown is very talented, and this song really proves that he can go from rap and his other mainstream songs to a slower and more meaningful song. She ain't you, is a song that you can easily enjoy and listen to that will put you in a better mood. I hope you enjoy this song and continue to enjoy music!

Funniest Songs

It's the showdown of funny videos! I picked 2 that I thought were funny and set them up against one of the best in this category, Friday. Do you think these songs have what it takes to take out a song as bad as Friday?

Never Say Never- Nigahiga- This is a comedic video that Ryan Higa made, but at the end he shows us a parody of the song Never Say Never by Justin Bieber. His parody of Never Say Never starts at 3:35 in his video.

The second video and song that I have pitted against Friday is Shed A Tear- Kevjumba. This is a parody of Rocketeer by Far East Movement.

Finally, Like a Good Boy by Nigahiga as well. This is a great parody of Like A G6 by Far East Movement.

Enjoy the songs and have fun with listening to them and watching the videos!

If you have heard another very funny song, share it here!

The Lazy Song- Bruno Mars (Lyrics+ Music Video)

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

I'm gonna kick my feet up then stare at the fan
Turn the TV on, throw my hand in my pants
Nobody's gon' tell me I can't, na

I'll be lounging on the couch just chilling in my Snuggie
Click to MTV so they can teach me how to dougie
'Cause in my castle I'm the freaking man

Oh yes, I said it, I said it
I said it 'cause I can

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything
Nothing at all, nothing at all

Tomorrow I'll wake up, do some P90X
Find a really nice girl, have some really nice sex
And she's gonna scream out
This is great
(Oh my god, this is great)

Yeah, I might mess around
And get my college degree
I bet my old man will be so proud of me
But sorry pops, you'll just have to wait

Oh yes, I said it, I said it
I said it 'cause I can

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

No, I ain't gonna comb my hair
'Cause I ain't going anywhere
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

I'll just strut in my birthday suit
And let everything hang loose
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Oh, today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

Nothing at all
Nothing at all
Nothing at all

The Lazy Song- Bruno Mars

The new anthem for millions and millions of people? I think so. This is a great feel good song that will have you singing along with the very catchy tune. Bruno Mars continues to do a great job matching the expectations that so many have after he produced great songs like Just The Way You Are and Grenade. Can The Lazy Song beat the expectations and milestones Bruno Mars's other songs have set? I have a very strong feeling that it will be very soon that we see it smashing through those milestones and treading on new territory.

Boomerang- Plain White T's

Here is the newest released Plain White T's song. This song sounds a lot like many of their other songs, but they still make a catchy tone that will have the song stuck in your head after a few times listening to it. The music video is pretty cool with all of it's stop motion clips put in as well as regular motion clips. Try doing that! Enjoy the song and tell me what do you think!

Till the World Ends- Britney Spears

Here is Britney's brand new song! It was released 2 days ago and already has over 2 million views! Listen and tell me what you think. I like this song because it has that feeling of happiness, but it is also very repetitive. I also think that it is a lot like many of the other songs she has recently released. Lots of techno and fast beats are worked into her base pop style. The song sounds very familiar, but I can't put a name to the sound alike song. She has the same energy that she brings to all of her songs. I hope you enjoy the song!

Telling The World- Taio Cruz

I really love this song, and now here is the music video to go with it! Enjoy!

E.T.- Katy Perry Ft. Kanye West

Here is the much awaited and talked about music video for E.T. by Katy Perry ft. Kanye West. The music video has left me speechless on what to say about it. I really like the song, but I thought the music video was extremely strange.

Rescue Me- You Me At Six & Chiddy

Rescue Me by You Me At Six & Chiddy, is a really nice song that sounds incredible. You Me At Six was a band that had a smaller fan group then many of the bands that you hear about, but with this song that they did with Chiddy, has made them a topic to talk about. I didn't even know about this band until I heard this song. Listen for yourself and comment on what you thought!

The Show Goes On- Lupe Fiasco (Lyrics+ Music Video)

LA-SER

Ya
Ya
K, haters in the building now
Ya

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

Have you ever had the feeling that you was being had
Don't that s__ make you mad
They treat you like a slave, with chains all on your soul,
And put whips up on your back,
They be lying through they teeth
Hope you slip up off your path
I don't switch up I just laugh
Put my kicks up on they desk
Unaffected by they threats than get busy on they a__
See that's how that Chi-Town made me
That's how my daddy raised me
That glittering may not be gold, don't let no body play me
If you are my homeboy, you never have to pay me
Go on and put your hands up, when times are hard you stand up
L-U-P the man, cause a brand that the fans trust
So even if they ban us they'll never slow my plans up!

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

One in the air for the people that ain't here
Two in the air for the father that's there
Three in the air for the kids in the ghetto
Four for the kids who don't wanna be there
None for the n_____ trying to hold them back
Five in the air for the teacher not scared to tell those kids that's living in the ghetto that the n_____ holdin' back that the World is theirs!
Yeah yeah, the World is yours, I was once that little boy
Terrified of the World
Now I'm on a World tour
I will give up everything, even start a world war
For these ghettos girls and boys im rapping round' the World for!
Africa to New York, Haiti then I detour, Oakland out to Auckland
Gaza Strip to Detroit, say hip-hop only destroy
Tell em' look at me, boy!
I hope your son don't have a gun and that would be a D-boy

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

So no matter what you been through
No matter what you into
No matter what you see when you look outside your window
Brown grass or green grass
Picket fence or barbed wire
Never ever put them down
You just lift your arms higher
Raise em till' your arms tired
Let em' know you're there
That you struggling and survivin' that you gonna persevere
Yeah, ain't no body leavin', no body goin' home
Even if they turn the lights out the show is goin' on!

Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!
Alright, already the show goes on
All night, till the morning we dream so long
Anybody ever wonder, when they would see the sun up
Just remember when you come up
The show goes on!

My Girl- Mindless Behavior

Alright, this group has been around for a little while, but I just found them. The group is Mindless Behavior. Made up of Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray, and Roc Royal. They are a group of R&B singers mixing in rap. Their first song, My Girl, is very catchy and will bring this newer group very far just with the one song. They have good voices and they can dance very well, even though they are only 13 and 14 years old! This song talks a lot about what they know well, texting. There are a lot of texting phrases and symbols. Take a look, then check out their remix! My Girl- Remix

I'm Beamin- Lupe Fiasco (Lyrics + Music Video)

Today, nobody cares
But tomorrow they will, they will
Today, nobody cares
But, oh, tomorrow they will, they will(x2)

They said my future was dark
You see me now?
Just look around
I'm beamin'

(We are) They used to talk
When I wasn't around (Lasers)
You see me now (Were not)
(Losers) I'm beamin'

I get my energy from my inner G
I be in outer space, but I got inner peace
So tell my enemies that they can't injure me
I know that irritates, you have my sympathies
Well, you should protest, yeah, you should picket me
I'm on a losing strike, I'm on a winning streak
I'm out in left field, I'm speaking mentally
But that's a better places, than where the b__ be
I'm feelin' really good, me and different beat
Me and my different drummer, he play the timpani
See, thats what got me here, you hearin me
Me on my black man in the future s__, call me Billy Dee
See, Im just forward-looking, thats how I really see
See, while you Valentines, I'm thinking Christmas trees
And that's how this would be, even at Mickey D's
Semicolon, close parentheses

They said my future was dark
You see me now?
Just look around
I'm beamin
They used to talk
When I wasnt around
You see me now
Im beamin'

Do you remember me, the guy from verse one?
Failure's my last name, Never's my first one
You see I hood a lot, and yeah I nerd some
Hoods where the heart is, nerds where the words from
Don't represent either, because I merged them
it's kids who wanna leave, and I encourage them
Go out and see the world, never return from
Yeah, you dont come back, unless you learn some
And baby girl what does it matter where your purse from?
Your hair done, your nails did, your a__ fat, but youre dumb
Mix Melyssa Ford with Maya Angelou
Become a top model and Sojourner too
I try to follow this, what Muhammad do
It's such a old soul inside the sonic youth
Swear I'm Ferraried up, and I'm conscious, too
I don't prophesize: I promise you

They said my future was dark
You see me now?
Just look around
I'm beamin
They used to talk
When I wasnt around (Lasers)
You see me now (Ha)
I'm beamin

Yeah, it's me again, the guy from verse two
Well, this the last one, its almost curfew
It's almost night out, so turn your lights on
Where all my 760s, witcha brights on?
Yeah, they are the ones, to keep your eyes on
Like how we used to do, to keep the house warm
Now those the type of eyes, I not cry from
You see the tears of fire, run out my cryin' songs
Now the world's shoulders, is what we cryin' on
The worlds fast lane, is what I'm drivin' on
What am I driving at? I'm tryina drive it home
I'm in the drivers seat, but you can ride along
'Cause never cyclops, it's never I alone
I'm tellin' your story, wherever I perform
Now if they lookin' for me, tell em I've gone
Out in the bright lights, right where I belong

They said my future was dark
You see me now?
Just look around
I'm beamin

They used to talk
When I weren't around
You see me now
I'm beamin

Lupe Fiasco

He is great rapper who can blend almost all the genres together. He has an amazing talent of bringing the types of genres together to make a song that means something to everyone. In the song, The Show Goes On, the one linked to the title, is a rap about how maybe African Americans were once slaves, but it's time to move on. You can't let that hold up your show just because of one thing in the past. He talks about how even the ghetto kids have the same chances as long as they keep going. If you start to do drugs and crimes, your show has stopped. He raps about how he was that kid who was in the ghetto looking for a way out. He never gave up, and now he is rapping about why you shouldn't. Some examples of his song blending skills are: Solar Midnight (Rock and Rap), Paris, Tokyo (Rap and R&B), Hip Hop Saved My Life (Hip Hop and Rap). In all of his raps, he sort of uses hip hop and R&B, just more so in some then others. One rap that everyone should listen to is I'm Beamin. He talks about how it doesn't matter if you are a nerd or a gangster, we all should be intelligent and do right things. I will post the lyrics to the song in a later post so you can read what he wants us all to know.

Words I Never Said- Lupe Fiasco

This is a half fan based half real music video for his song, Words I Never Said. If you really listen to what he says, he is challenging a lot of the challenges and problems we had and what the real causes of them are. Take a moment to really listen to the lyrics and what he is trying to tell us.

If I Was You (OMG)- Far East Movement ft. Snoop Dogg

If I Was You (OMG) by Far East Movement ft. Snoop Dogg is their newest song that has been released. It is really short, but the song still sounds pretty awesome! The song follows their regular song patterns on how the lyrics are put together. The song speeds up at the end, but just stops abruptly. Check it out and I will post the Music Video as soon as I can!

Cupid- Lloyd

Here it is! The Music Video for Cupid by Lloyd! Enjoy!

Telling The World- Taio Cruz

This song is so nice! Taio Cruz isn't only making a mindless, monotonous song like Dirty Picture! This song is so much nicer. Do you remember how we all met Taio Cruz? He was that singer that made those nice songs that you really enjoy listening to. You can just feel the emotions in this song as you listen. He does such a great job to make it so that it isn't completely different from recognizable, but he does a superb job making it so that he isn't just appealing to the midnight clubs. I really like this song and hope you do too!

Rainbow- Jessie J

Sorry, my last link's video is blocked because of it's copyrights to the song, so now we have to use a different video. Here is another video that has the song in good sound quality. Keep enjoying!

Cupid- Lloyd

I found this song by Lloyd just by chance. I listened to it, and was amazed at how nice this song is. Cupid by Lloyd is a great song that is hard to criticize, even if you don't enjoy this type of genre. I particularly like the mixture of R&B, Pop, and the slight use of techno. I think it sounds great and I will get the music video up for you as soon as I can!

Hit the Lights- Jay Sean ft. Lil Wayne

This song is not as meaningful as some of his other songs. Hit the Lights is one of the club songs, not one that you end up singing any day like Down was. This song is pretty catchy and will definitely become more popular with some time, but I still like Down better. This song has a lot of techno worked into it and Lil Wayne's rap was not very good at all. Tell me what you think, and watch for this song to hit the radio stations' top songs.

The Worst Song Ever?

Wow... This song has to be the WORST song that I have ever heard. She has the most nasally voice ever and the lyrics are just plain dumb. What song is this? Friday by Rebecca Black. Her song is very lame and is a joke. I think the only reason she has that many views for this song is because people are going to see it just so they can make fun of it later. Was this really a song someone expected to have good reviews about? Tell me your thoughts.

The Part 2s

I have two songs that have a great remake of them. The first song is Airplanes by B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams. The remake of it, or part 2, is Airplanes (recovery) by B.o.B Ft. Hayley Williams & Eminem. The part 2 version is really good. They do a great job with both new raps. I really like Eminem's part, which starts at 3:04. B.o.B. also does an incredible job. The second song that has a really nice part 2 is Love the Way You Lie by Eminem ft. Rihanna. The part 2 is Love the Way you lie by Rihanna ft. Eminem. The lyrics are included for this song. The rap is different from the original, and Rihanna does a lot more singing then her 3 or 4 lines when she was featured in Eminem's version. Listen and see which one you like more!

Music Video Ads

Just to put all the music videos that are in the poll for best ad music video, I am going to put them all in one place so that it is easier to get to all of the songs quickly. Make sure you vote for your favorite!

What the Hell- Avril Lavigne

Hold it Against Me- Britney Spears

I Need a Doctor- Dr. Dre and Eminem

Just Can't Get Enough- Black Eyed Peas

Following their disappointing Super Bowl half time show, Black Eyed Peas come out with one more song. This song follows their current music trend, which is lots of techno. I know this song will hit the top of the charts pretty quickly, but I still would like to see them go back to songs like Where is the Love. Where is the Love was one of their songs that really had a lot of meaning behind them, not like the ones now where you can't really think, oh that was very meaningful. Their songs have become more and more plain and not as unique as they once were. Listen. Comment. Enjoy!

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Rainbow- Jessie J

Finally! Her song is finally a single! I think this is such a great song with tons of deep, and inspirational meaning. Listen and tell me what you think!
This is not a music video, it's just her song.
The album that this and many other awesome songs are on Who You Are. She published the album with Lava Records and Universal Republic. Lava is yet another record company she is working with.

Gone- Nelly ft. Kelly Rowland

Nelly is still here. Here is his newest release. He is still using his old style and making great music with his talent. He might have been dormant for a while, but Just A Dream brought him back into the scene and here is his follow-up song. Listen for yourself! Kelly and Nelly do such a great job in this song, and it's the "sequel" to a much older song, Dilemma. The two are a very good team and should do even more songs together!

Hollywood Tonight- Michael Jackson

Yes, Michael Jackson is dead, but his music will never die. This song is the newest of the "Ghost Michael Jackson" songs. This song helps illuminate how amazing Michael Jackson really is. His talent succeeds his own life and starts a life of its own by continuing to make new songs that help us all remember the One and Only. His reincarnation name is "King of Pop" but the King's name will always remain with Elvis Presley, The King of Rock and Roll. Michael Jackson may be called the King of Pop with his reincarnation, but his true name should and will always be the Prince of Pop. We all miss you.

Born This Way- Lady Gaga

Sorry about the delaying in a post about this new music video. I am working hard with Little Star to make a collaborative post that will go into some more detail then my normal posts. The ideas behind our new post are still in planning. So for now, all I can offer is a link to the new music video. I hope you enjoy watching this video. The video is very strange, but what else can you expect from Lady Gaga?

Saturday, March 5, 2011

I Need A Doctor- Dr. Dre ft. Eminem and Skylar Grey

Here is his newest song, I Need A Doctor. The beginning of the music video is basically just a long story. The song doesn't start until 2:45, so if you want to skip to the song skip to that! This is the explicit version, so be aware of what you about to listen to. It isn't like there is cursing every other word, but there is many parts where there are a few curse words. I think this may be one of Dr. Dre's greatest rap's since a long time. Eminem also does an incredible job in this song. This is definitely one of both of their best songs. Dr. Dre's rap starts at 6:07. His part has many curse words, but it is a great rap segment. He definitely has not had a great rap in a while, but this one completely changes that.

Blow- Ke$ha

This song is definitely what you would call a Ke$ha styled song. The music video is very strange, but the song is still alright. Listen and Comment!

Bow Chicka Wow Wow- Mike Posner ft. Lil Wayne

Here is Mike's newest song, Bow Chicka Wow Wow. I don't think this is anywhere near his best work. That goes for Lil Wayne, too. Listen and tell me what you think!

Hold It Against Me- Britney Spears

The music video is now out! Britney Spears launched the new music video to her hit song, Hold it Against Me. The music video was released yesterday, but already has nearly 2 million views! Talk about highly anticipated! If you haven't read my post earlier about her song, go a see it, then come back and watch and listen! Take a look, comment on what you think!

Born This Way- Lady Gaga

You most likely have heard this song on the radio already. Yes, Lady Gaga still is writing songs. This song, though, is actually a song. She doesn't have a voice changer to make her sound crazy, she is really singing. She is an extremely talented artist who is just known for her very strange style. She was accepted into Tisch before she broke out and became the major superstar that she is now. She now has a song that will reintroduce a new version of Lady Gaga to the world. She continues to have the up beat techno background music, but she does more singing in this song instead of voice changer singing. Welcome, Born This Way by Lady Gaga.

Emailing list

If you like what I have been blogging about, I am opening up a list so that you can get email notifications about new posts that I have made. Comment that you want to, hit follow, or hit the subscribe button way at the bottom of the page to get the news!

Breathless- Shayne Ward

I think this is a great song that Shayne Ward sang. It was sang beautifully and had great meaning behind the lyrics. This is older then some of the other songs that I have posted, but I think that it should be reintroduced to us. Let me know what you think of the song!

Don't Forget to Voice Your Opinion!

I am taking a poll on whether I should start to post lyrics as well as refer songs. If you don't like that idea, like it, or aren't completely with it, be sure to vote! The song that is linked to the title is "Words I Never Said" by Lupe Fiasco ft. Skylar Grey. It's a rap song that is pretty new, but this wouldn't be on my list of favorite rap songs. I enjoy the Skylar Grey's part, not so much the rap. The rap is still pretty good, though. He does some good rapping about how he wants to make a better world. So, take a few minutes to listen and let me know what you think! Don't forget to vote!

Have you heard this song?

The song is "Gotta Be Somebody" by Shayne Ward. It isn't very new, but I think it is worthy to be one of the quick songs. It is a very nice song. It isn't hard and it has its own sound, so it isn't mistaken to be just like all the other songs.

Never Goinna to Leave this Bed- Maroon 5

Just a quick song to listen to. I think that it is an okay song. I don't think this is on par with their better songs. Listen for yourself! With this song, you have to listen to it a few times before it catches onto you. Try listening to it a few times before deciding that you don't want to listen to it anymore.

Better Believe it- Sam Leon

I think this was a very nice song. There is lots of criticism that this is a copy of Eminem's "Not Afraid". My opinion is that Sam Leon has talent and needs to try some more. If he can get a song that isn't such a close match to a different song, he could be a pretty big hit. I am assuming that he got some of his inspiration to this song from Eminem, but that just shows how great of a rapper Eminem is to inspire others to try and be like him. The scenery from both are closely matched because of the theme of where they are filmed. Take a look at both songs and comment on what you think.

Written In The Stars- Tinie Tempah

This is a really nice song that really introduces Tinie Tempah to the world. I really like the meaning behind the song, but I think that some parts of the song might have been better if there wasn't rapping in it. If there was a very talented singer who could sing more parts of the song instead of rap it, I think it may be even better. The rapping was very well done and was executed nicely in the song. Tinie Tempah will really shine with this song and he is bound to be on his way to "the stars". The song is bound to fly up the charts as soon as it becomes a little more well known. There is no doubt that he has the talent, I am just looking to see if he can make another song that is like this one to back it up. He already has other songs, but I think this is his best so far by a long shot.

Jessie J

The song linked to the title is "Price Tag" by Jessie J ft. B.o.B. She is 22 years old and is British. Her real name is Jessica Cornish, her stage name is Jessie J. She was claimed as one of this year's breakout artists. Her first published song is "Do it Like a Dude". These two songs demonstrate how her talent varies so greatly. Many people try to compare her to Lady Gaga because of "Do it Like a Dude", but her talent stretches even farther. She has amazing vocals and can change her style on the fly. Listen to "Do it Like a Dude", then listen to another song she sang, "Mamma Knows Best". "Mamma Knows Best" is one of her own videos that she made, not published. You can see her talent show through in both songs. She is definitely going to be one of this year's biggest hits. She is signed to Island Record in the UK, and Universal Republic in America. Another incredible song she has is "Rainbow". She wrote the song while visiting in L.A. She is singing over her prerecorded song that she did in the studio, not miming it. She talks about the meaning of the song and what inspired her to write it in the beginning of this video. The song starts at 2:22. I can't wait for her to publish more songs! Enjoy!

F**kin' Perfect- P!nk

Still on fire from "Raise Your Glass", P!nk makes yet another hit. Already reaching the top on many radio stations and charts, "F**kin' Perfect" just shows you how talented P!nk really is.
*warning* Music video may be disturbing to some.*warning*

What the Hell- Avril Lavigne

"What the Hell" by Avril Lavigne is yet another great song that she has made. This one is her newest song and I can predict that this will be heading for the top of the charts very quickly. The song is extremely catchy and will spread like wildfire and get stuck into your head. Like many of her songs ("Girlfriend", "Hot", "The Best Damn Thing", "When Your Gone", etc.) this song will be a hit.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Genuine Only- Ne-Yo

This is another nice song by Ne-Yo. It is one of his newer ones, I don't think it's his best work, but it is still very good!

Body Language- Jesse McCartney Ft. T-Pain

Nice song by Jesse McCartney. It is very catchy and will get stuck in your head!

Monday, January 17, 2011

Down On Me- Jeremih Ft. 50 Cent

Not one of my favorite songs, but I would keep an eye on this song. I can see that "Down On Me" will quickly rise up on the song list for many rap followers. Maybe in a little while, but this song will eventually start to hit the top on many radio stations that focus on playing rap songs. Take a few minutes to listen and comment on what you think will happen to this song.

Say Goodbye- Chris Brown

This is a nice song by Chris Brown. He had a tough time recently, so this is one of his older songs--it is a few years old. So this is one of my quick song picks. Enjoy! :) Make sure to comment on the songs!

Savin' Me- Nickelback

Another very well done song by Nickelback. Make sure you listen and enjoy the songs. Despite lots of criticism about many of their songs, I found that most of their songs were very good. They may need to stay away from some genres, but they still did a great job with their songs, no matter what style it was.

Far Away- Nickelback

Nickelback did a great job with this song. The song has a mix of Nickelback's strengths of incorporating different styles of music into a song. The music video for this song matches the lyrics very well, too. I think Nickelback doesn't get the credit they deserve. One of their big songs was "Rockstar", which I believe is the main reason this great band receives a lot of criticism. "Rockstar" was still well done, but the voice was very scratchy. The tune was very catchy, but it still had a few weaknesses.

Nickelback

The song that is linked to the title is "Someday" by Nickelback. Many people I have talked to and some other music sites really dislike this band. The reasons they had for disliking the band weren't very convincing, so I went and listened to a bunch of Nickelback songs. I'll have a few posts about the songs that I thought were decent. Tell me what you think of the songs, and what you think of the band. Quick fact, they are a Canadian rock band (also debated as an alternative rock band)  that have tried many different genres including country and pop. Yeah Canada!

Hold It Against Me- Britney Spears

This isn't a music video or a video posted by vevo for once. This is a user video by SuperKherlen. This is Britney's newest release. The lyrics of this song are more like the lyrics that she was singing when she was first catching on. The instrumental parts are more pop and techno, unlike what she would have had if it was suppose to be like her first few songs. This is like the reincarnation of the old Britney. Tell me what you think of it, and I'll try to keep you posted on other the new songs!

Never Too Late- Three Days Grace

I wasn't really into alternative rock until I listened to this band. "Never Too Late" by Three Days Grace really pulled me into listening to some of this genre. This is my favorite alternative rock band out of all of the ones I have heard because their songs tend to be a little softer then most other bands. I liked the drumming in this song because you can actually hear the drums; unlike many rock songs, you can hear all of the instruments. The guitar doesn't overpower the song, so it sounds more like a song, and not just a guitar solo. This song is one of the band's easier songs; many of their others are closer to a hard rock song. I will have more posts about this band later on with comment on their songs.

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Just The Way You Are- Bruno Mars

"Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars was one of my favorite songs ever, so that is why it made my list of quick songs to listen to! I hope you like it, I know I loved it. Just take a few minutes to listen, enjoy, then come back here and comment if you liked it, too.

100 Years- Five for Fighting

This is one of the older songs posted, but I think that this has a great melody and rhythm. The beat is nice and it is one of my favorite songs. Click the title!

How to Save A Life- The Fray

This is an exceptional song that makes you think about your actions. Take a few minutes to listen; if you heard it before, listen again! Just click the title!

Many of my post will be quick links to great songs that I think everyone should just listen to once, think about what it means and then move on. Some may surprise you! :) A song to start you off is an older song by Black Eyed Peas, "Where is the Love". I really like this song and hope Black Eyed Peas will go back to making song like this one. Enjoy!

My Favorite Song

I have included the link to my favorite song, "Hold My Hand" by Micheal Jackson duet with Akon. All you have to do is click the title of this post and it will bring you to the song. I thought it was very touching and beautifully sung. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

The Start

As I said in my other blog, I will be creating a new blog once the new year starts, and from the survey, I have a winning name. I will try my best to get a big variety of music onto my blog, and if you have a suggestion, make sure to comment. Many of my favorite songs are not new, so not all of the songs that are posted will be new either. I will try to post links to all of the songs that I post about, so you can hear them too.
